Privacy Policy
How this independent editorial site handles information when you read our review of FXCM for readers in Uganda.
Demo with our partnerWhat We Collect
A reader in Kampala opens our review of FXCM, scrolls through the section on account types, and then uses the contact form to ask whether the broker accepts mobile money. That single visit leaves a small trail: the pages viewed, the time spent, the approximate region shown by the network address, and whatever the reader chooses to type into the form. We do not ask for a trading account number, a deposit reference, or a copy of an identity document, and we do not need them to answer an editorial question.
From that example, the general rule is simple. We collect the technical data that any website receives when a browser connects, the content of messages sent through the contact form, and any details a reader volunteers when requesting a correction or asking about our review method. We do not open accounts, hold client money, or process applications for financial services, because this site is not the broker and does not act as one.
The legal basis for handling this information is our legitimate interest in running an independent editorial resource: measuring readership, answering correspondence, and keeping the site secure. When a reader sends a message through the contact form, we also rely on the steps needed to respond to that request. We do not use consent as a blanket basis, and we do not build profiles for advertising.
Measurement
We use analytics to understand which parts of the FXCM review are actually read. If many visitors leave before the section on fees, that tells us the page needs clearer structure. The measurement is aggregated: we look at counts, trends, and rough geographic distribution, not at the reading habits of a named person. We do not combine analytics records with contact form messages to identify who asked what.
Where a tool sets a cookie or similar identifier, it is used to distinguish one browser session from another so that repeat visits are not counted twice. Readers who block cookies or use a browser that limits tracking can still read every page; the review does not depend on measurement. We do not sell, rent, or trade aggregated readership data, and we do not pass it to the broker being reviewed for marketing purposes.
The point of measurement is editorial: to decide which questions deserve a fuller answer and which parts of the review are being missed. It is not a way to follow individual readers across other sites, and we do not run advertising networks on these pages.
Retention
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer the question and to keep a record of corrections we have made. In practice, a routine question is deleted within a few months of being resolved, while a correction that changes the review is kept longer so that the change can be explained if it is challenged. Analytics records are kept in aggregate form and are not retained indefinitely in a way that could reconstruct an individual visit.
We review what we hold at regular intervals and remove what no longer serves an editorial purpose. If a reader asks us to delete a message, we do so unless we need to keep it to document a correction or to meet a legal obligation. Backups are kept for a short period and then overwritten in the ordinary course of system maintenance.
Location and Sharing
The servers that host this site and the tools used for measurement may sit outside Uganda, including in the European Union and the United States. That means a reader's technical data may be transferred to and stored in those locations. We choose providers that apply contractual safeguards for such transfers, and we keep the number of recipients small.
Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site: hosting, security, and measurement. It is never sold to the broker, to data brokers, or to anyone else. We do not share contact form messages with FXCM or with any other broker, platform, or partner, and we do not name them in this policy because the list is limited to infrastructure providers that do not use the data for their own marketing.
We may disclose information if required by a lawful request from a competent authority, but we will examine such requests and disclose only what is strictly required. We do not voluntarily hand over reader correspondence for commercial purposes.
Your Rights
A reader who has sent a message through the contact form can ask what we hold about them, request a copy, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion. The same route works for questions about analytics records. Because we do not require an account, we may need enough detail to locate the relevant message, and we will not ask for identity documents beyond what is necessary to match the request.
To use these rights, write through the contact form on this site and state what you want. We will respond within a reasonable period and explain any refusal. If you believe our handling is wrong, you can raise the matter with the data protection authority in your country; we will cooperate with any lawful process.
This policy describes the current practice of an independent editorial site. It is not a financial services notice, it does not create an account relationship, and it does not change the fact that we are not the broker and do not provide financial advice. Readers who need account-specific help should contact the broker directly through its own channels.
